Next Level Entertainment for Long Distance Flights

The automotive industry is already working on several entertainment concepts for co-drivers and passengers. The focus is especially on kids and the approach to make long rides more peaceful and comfortable. But since there is no way for a pit stop in air traffic yet, whiny kids, hurting legs and boredom are kind of inevitable. That is the reason why we believe, that it is just a matter of time till airlines will have expand their entertainment and activity offer to stay attractive to the market.

Family-friendly entertainment on planes.

Based on Sharp’s new frameless and free shape display technology, STUDIOSYN developed a concept that literally makes space for entertainment in airplanes, without disturbing other passenger’s peace.

„The Monument“ is a separated, small and round cabin in the middle of the airplane, including benches and seats with seatbelts, LED-Displays and a touch sensitive display table for interaction. This table in the center of the cabin enables video gaming, watching movies, surfing the web or access to route information.

Passengers are able to book their own monument experience, by either paying an additional fee while online booking or right at the airports ticket sales. Each period of use is limited to 40 minutes.
After boarding, each Monument-User gets his own User-Package according to his or her booked experience, including an info booklet, optionally ordered wellness products, writing materials, etc.
A cabin crew member and the IFE-System reminds the user 5 minutes before his reservation period.
By scanning his Entertainment-ID the user logs in to the Monument and is able to begin.
Shortly before the end of his reservation period, the Monument’s lights dim slowly to convey the end of reservation time.
